A few facts and figures:
There are 502,000 residents in the country; 43.1% are foreign nationals. Although foreigners are allowed to vote and stand in local elections only 1.2% of councillors are non-Luxembourgers. In Luxembourg City there are 32,000 Luxembourgers and 62,000 non-Luxembourgers. Of the Luxembourgers 27,000 are registered to vote while only 4,000 foreigners are registered.
The local elections are to be held on 9th October and we have until 14th July to register to vote if we have not already done so.
